There is an incredible amount of information available via the web for anyone interested in BDSM and D/s.  Those listed here are the ones we've visited personally and found quite informative.  Farther down the page are suggestions for chat rooms that focus on BDSM and D/s as well as mailing lists we either belong to or have heard good things about from others.

So surf to your hearts content, perhaps you'll find something that interests you.

Society of Janus- one of the oldest and most respected BDSM organizations.

BDSM Search Engine Great little search engine specifically for BDSM related information. 

Chat Rooms (IRC and AOL) 
Chat rooms are fun and entertaining, but are not normally the best place to learn about BDSM in the real world. (notice I said NORMALLY!) Below are a list of some of the IRC channels that we've visited and found some terrifically helpful, honest, nice people. 

I've indicated the net these chat room can be found, as well as any other information I could find.  Information about mIRC, how to download, set up and get to some of these channels can also be found here. 

Always remember to NEVER give out your real name, location, phone, or any other personnel information when in chat. There are some mighty inventive folks out there when it comes to getting information.

Websites

Loving D/s Homepages and Webring A webring of sites specifically aimed at D/s couples. I've been to their website many times and have found a wealth of information for the couple just beginning to explore D/s.  Their editorials are thoughtful, well written and as honest as you can get.  

The Loving Dominants Association This is a pansexual support group for dominants and submissive that feel the loving approach is the best approach to a D/s relationship. They provide information and support to members and anyone interested in loving domination. Good resource for new folks.  (SunTzu and I are both members of their mailing list)

Domsubmarriages   A spin-off site of the Domsubmarriage e-mail discussion list from onelist.com.  We belong to this list and find that the discussion, as well as the website are very well done and packed full of information.  The discussion is spirited and the information presented always of value. 

WizDomme WizDomme is a regular on AOL and has put together a "newbie" packet for folks just beginning to explore BDSM either in real life or online. She has some wonderful information contained on her pages.  Well worth a visit.

Castle of Dreams Site designed by a couple in a 24/7 Master/slave relationship.  They also make a good many of their own toys and include information on how to construct them. 

Mailing Lists

To subscribe to most mailing groups you would (normally) do the following:

1.  E-Mail from the address you want to receive the mailing list

2.  Use the proper email address given below for whatever topic you are interested

3.  In the subject header put: SUBSCRIBE [Mailing list group name]

4. In the body of the message you would put: SUBSCRIBE [Mailing list group name] [put your email address here]

SM-ORG majordomo@unix.tpe.com  A fantastic organization with their own mailing group.

Onlist.com has a wide range of e-mail discussion lists. Some are better than others and the topics run the gamut from x-rated picture trading to serious discussion groups.  Just visit the Onelist site at www.onelist.com, do a search on BDSM (or whatever subject your interested in), scroll through the listings, find a list that sounds interesting and subscribe.  Its as simple as that.
