B D S M
B/D - Bondage and Discipline
D/s - Dominance and submission
S/M - Sadism and MasochismBondage - To be bound; ones movement limited or at times no movement is able at all. (NOTE : cuffs, rope, gags, blindfolds, etc)
Discipline - Self-control of ones behavior, mind, and body by judicious punishment methods. (NOTE : something one may not like but that is not harmful as long as it is done out of caring and trust on both parties)
Dominance - One who plays the role of the dominant, also known as top, is the person who controls the scene while it is in progress. (NOTE : There are always boundaries and these boundaries should not be passed over once set and decided before playing out any scene)
Submission - One who plays the role of the submissive, also known as bottom, is the person who gives over control of the flow of the scene to the dominant. (NOTE : They put forth there trust that the Top will not harm them in anyway and stop if needed)
Sadism - The act of inflicting pain to another by the Sadist for the sake of the enjoyment out of giving the pain. (NOTE : spanking, branding, body piercing, etc)
Masochism - The act of receiving the pain from another. A person may identify as being masochist if they enjoy the discomfort of the pain being given. (NOTE : Some masochist may not be submissive even though they enjoy the receiving of the action. Just as the Sadist may not be Dominant even though they are the one giving)
"A masochist would be disappoint if their Master/Mistress only used the crop to point. A submissive would be disappointed if the Dominant had to use it because it meant they had displeased the Master/Mistress"
